In this news, we discuss the Honda reaches $5 million defective air bag settlement with Arizona.
(Reuters) – Arizona struck a $ 5 million deal with U.S. units of Honda Motor Co on Wednesday in an investigation into faulty Takata airbag systems, Attorney General Mark Brnovich said.
The settlement follows an $ 85 million settlement announced in August with nearly every other U.S. state. Arizona said Honda’s settlement includes $ 1.65 million in restitution for state consumers, a $ 2.13 million repair incentive program, $ 750,000 for consumer awareness and a payment of $ 500,000 to Arizona.
Defective airbag inflators have been linked to at least 15 deaths in the United States in Honda vehicles.
