(Reuters) – Finland’s Nokia NOKIA.HE has signed a 5-year agreement with Google GOOGL.O to replace its IT infrastructure, including data centers, with Google’s cloud offering as network OEM seeks to cut costs, he said Wednesday.
“The agreement is expected to generate significant operational efficiencies and cost savings over time due to a reduction in the property footprint, material energy consumption and the need to purchase material capacity,” he said in a statement.
He did not release financial details of the contract, but said it would take 18 to 24 months for the full migration.
