The government must keep to its plan and make painful decisions, according to British Finance Minister Jeremy Hunt, in order to significantly reduce inflation. Hunt praised the minor decline in inflation on Wednesday.
He stated in a statement that “high inflation is a nightmare for family budgets, undermines corporate investment, and leads to strike action, so no matter how difficult it is, we need to continue to our plan to bring it down.”
“While any reduction in inflation is welcome, we have a plan to go further and halve inflation this year, cut debt, and build the economy – but it is crucial that we take the difficult decisions needed and carry the plan through,” the government said.
