Businesses in downtown Minneapolis hope Chauvin trial will provide much needed boost - WCCO

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – City officials say it over and over again: Minneapolis is open for business. But just because businesses are open doesn’t mean customers are coming.

The pandemic has hit the city center hard. A majority of workers are now at home, but that could all change next week as the officer accused of George Floyd’s death goes to trial. Thousands of people are expected downtown, and some businesses are hoping this will be the push they need to get there.
