Colby Johns, a University of Maine graduate who has been working as a Scientific Diving Assistant at UMaine since 2017, has successfully completed Instructor Certification from the Professional Association of Diving Instructors (PADI).
UMaine’s Scientific Diving program provides support and training to scientists and students in the use of diving as a research tool. He is based in Walpole along the Damariscotta River at UMaine’s Darling Marine Center.
Johns, originally from Woodstock, Connecticut, graduated with a Bachelor of Marine Science from UMaine in 2016.
