Having a multigenerational workforce will be important for businesses as they recover from the coronavirus pandemic, according to an insurance group leader.
Andy Briggs, CEO of Phoenix Group, a UK pension and insurance company, told CNBC’s Squawk Box Europe that age diversity should be a priority, along with gender and ethnicity.
“Businesses focus a lot on gender, ethnicity, and rightly so, because the best businesses are inclusive and diverse businesses. I just want there to be an age range in that as well, ”he said on Monday.
He pointed out that during the pandemic, “the youngest and the oldest workers, at both ends of the spectrum, have been hit the hardest” in terms of employment.
