BILOXI, Mississippi (AP) – One person was killed and another was injured in a shootout at a county courthouse on Friday, a Mississippi coroner said.
Coroner Brian Switzer told the Sun Herald that one person died after the shooting at the Harrison County Courthouse in Biloxi. WLOX-TV reported that a uniformed security guard was taken on a stretcher with what appeared to be a leg injury.
Officials did not disclose details of those involved in the shooting or the condition of the injured person.
Officers from the Mississippi Bureau of Investigations were at the scene. The office is investigating all shootings involving law enforcement officers.
