AUGUSTA Maine (WAGM) – The Legislative Assembly Tax Committee has advanced Gov. Janet Mills’ tax compliance compromise proposal that offers relief to the majority of small businesses in Maine.
As Shawn Cunningham reported in this week’s County Business Report, some lawmakers say there are still hurdles to overcome if the entire legislature plans to approve the measure in the coming weeks.
State lawmakers will be back there, meeting on March 10 and 11. A major issue to address will be Governor Mills’ proposed tax compliance plan, which she touts as a compromise across the aisle.
