A San Antonio family is fighting for justice in the stabbing death of their loved one, Bryan Aguilar. They attend every court hearing to ensure the accused, Marc Champoux, remains behind bars until the trial. Aguilar’s family believes that Champoux is responsible for their brother’s death and wants the justice system to hold him accountable. Champoux has a history of bond violations and was also a person of interest in another murder case. The prosecutor is currently working on putting together the case against Champoux, who claims self-defense.

    Champoux’s Violent History

Champoux had numerous bond/protective order violations, including a previous assault bodily injury case for which he served six months in jail. He was also a person of interest in the murder of his estranged wife, Samantha Lopez, although he has never been charged in that case. Lopez was fatally shot in front of her children outside her apartment complex. Aguilar’s family believes that enough crime and injustice has occurred and wants Champoux to be held accountable for their loved one’s death.

    Prosecutor Working on the Case

During a recent court hearing, Champoux was not present, and the prosecutor informed Aguilar’s family that they needed more time to put their case together. Champoux claims self-defense in Aguilar’s stabbing death, but the family is determined to see justice served. Champoux remains behind bars on the murder charge and was denied a bond reduction earlier this year. As of now, there is no trial date set for Champoux.

KSAT 12 has reached out to the San Antonio Police Department for an update on the Samantha Lopez case but has yet to receive a response.
