Former aide to Governor Andrew Cuomo, Lindsey Boylan, accused the governor of sexual harassment earlier this week, but since news broken, a few top Democrats at both the state and federal level have remained silent.
One of the state’s most prominent Democratic women, Senator Kirsten Gillibrand, on Thursday, a day after that news broke, denied that she had read Boylan’s personal account of the governor’s alleged sexual harassment.
“I do not have read his allegations or his message, his average post, but as I said, everyone has the right to be able to come forward, speak their truth and be heard, ”said Senator Gillibrand. “And that is true of her and that is also true of Governor Cuomo.”
In 2017, Gillibrand led the appeal against Senator Al Franken, pushing his former colleague to resign after being accused of sexual harassment by numerous women.
