LEXINGTON, Ky. (WKYT) – The Lexington-Fayette County Health Department reported 193 new cases of COVID-19 for Wednesday, January 13.
Two new deaths have been reported.
The new cases brought the city’s total to 26,185. The city’s death toll stands at 170.
The state’s COVID-19 map shows Fayette County still in the red zone with 69.5 cases per 100,000 population. Red zone counties are those with 25 or more average daily cases per 100,000 population.

Although the COVID-19 vaccine has started distribution to health workers and long-term care facilities, the health department says it will not be widely available to the general public until later in 2021.
