INDIANAPOLIS – The downtown Indy tourism industry was hit hard in 2020, affecting local restaurants and shops, but this weekend the downtown area is experiencing a business boom with major events returning.
The convention center is having a national joy contest and Bankers Life Fieldhouse is hosting “Disney on Ice.” Both events are taking additional security measures while welcoming hundreds of people to the city center.
“With social distancing it was very difficult to get out, but I think a lot has been put in place for downtown. So I feel safe enough to go out, ”said Katie Millikin, who came from Franklin to see“ Disney on Ice ”.
