Business owners, residents gathered in front of Norms Extreme Fitness
PRINEVILLE, Ore (KTVZ) – Dozens of protesters rallied outside a closed gym in downtown Prineville on Saturday, rallying to call on Oregon Governor Kate Brown to let all businesses reopen, as do large retailers since the start of the pandemic.
Chuck Banks, organizer and member of the “People’s Rights” group, said he was unhappy with the continued restrictions.
“The way the government has been run by our governor is, frankly, ludicrous,” Banks said.
Attendees at the protest, held outside Norm’s Extreme Fitness Center on Third Street, included members of the People’s Rights group, business owners and other residents of Prineville.
Gym owner Norman Smith has said he supports and encourages the rally.
“We’re here to support all businesses – not just our business, but we want to see Oregon open up on every level,” Smith said.
