EDWARDS, Ill. (WMBD) – It all started with wanting to help polar bears.
Piper Waltrip, 11, and her mother Stephanie were baking cakes over the holidays when Piper thought she could use her baking talent to help.
“I saw pictures of climate change and what the polar bears looked like – the ice was melting. And I… it made me very sad, ”Piper said. “I thought it would be a good idea to sell them and give them to the polar bears.”
The Waltrips released “Piper Perfect Pops” and made more $ 900 for the World Wildlife Foundation before Valentine’s Day.
