The Supreme Court on Monday disregarded the plea for cutting scenes of " Padmaavat " which praised "Sati" and would have a destructive affect on the audience of the movie.
Dismissing the petitioner's plea, Swami Agnivesh, Dipak Misra CJ, A.M. Khanwilkar J. and D.Y. J. Chandrachud stated that after a movie is qualified by means of the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC), there’s not anything that would represent an infringement.
The court docket stated that Agnivesh's attorney had requested FIR's registration towards the manufacturer and the director of the movie as a result of the scenes of reward have been towards the legislation banning Sati .
