CBS Reveals “MacGyver” Will End With Season Five; The series finale airs this month
Sad news for MacGyver fans – the show will end after season five, Deadline reports.
The show averaged 5.85 million viewers and was rated 0.7 adults aged 18-49 (most recent) this season under new showrunner Monica Macer.
“All of us at CBS are extremely grateful for the incredible work and dedication of Lucas and the rest of the cast, as well as Monica, the writers and the entire crew,” said Kelly Kahl, President of CBS Entertainment, in a statement. “The MacGyver team have traveled far and wide to save the world on several occasions with nothing more than bubble gum and a paperclip and made this show their own. We’re excited to be able to give this dedicated and loyal fan base the opportunity to say goodbye to their favorite characters in the thoughtful way this series deserves. “
MacGyver played Lucas Till, Tristin Mays, Justin Hires, Meredith Eaton, Levy Tran, and Henry Ian Cusick.

The current series was a reimagining of the 1985 drama and centered on Angus “Mac” MacGyver (Till), who is part of an underground organization within the US government, where he uses his extraordinary talent to solve unconventional problems and knowledge to save lives.
