Drew Barrymore & Cameron Diaz discuss nicknames, say sweetest things about friendship (video)
It’s Drew Barrymore’s 46th birthday and his longtime best friend Cameron Diaz has made a surprise appearance, via Zoom, to help celebrate this special day.
During the cute interview, the former Charlie’s Angels co-stars revealed that they were called “Poo Poo” and would even use the nickname at a dinner party in public.
Drew said she doesn’t like sleeping in a bed with someone other than a romantic partner, but she’ll let Cameron sleep with her.
“I don’t like to sleep with anyone, that’s one thing,” Drew said. “I don’t know why but it’s my thing. If it’s like a lover, it’s obviously different, but no friends. I’m going to sleep in a tub, I slept on a pool table, as you call it, but this one, oh my God. We lived together for periods of time, were roommates. I slept in a tent as my fever rose on a Chilean mountain during a thunderstorm in Patagonia. I mean, yeah, we’ve been everywhere together.
When fellow guest Savannah Guthrie said fans wanted a Charlie’s Angels reunion, Drew said, “I’m glad people are feeling this. I’ll be grannies in inner tubes with Poo Poo, so we can do anything as long as we’re together. I have a whole life to live with you.
Cameron then said the sweetest things about their friendship.
“Our friendship is truly one of the greatest joys of my life,” Cameron said. “When I think of you, literally I’ll cry, because I just think you’re so special and to celebrate you every year is one of my favorite times of the year.
Drew replied, “You’ve made me a better person my whole life. And you’ve seen me through it all. Ugly, beautiful, loss, life, birth. ”
Drew burst into tears when another big star showed up to celebrate his birthday!
