City of Amarillo gives update on Hollywood Road wastewater plant
The Hollywood Road Water Treatment Facility in Amarillo experienced three wastewater spills in a matter of three days last week.
The spills resulted in over 940,000 gallons of partially treated wastewater spilling into Playa Lake 40.
The facility has experienced other spills this year, including a 3.9 million gallons wastewater spill in June.
The condition of the plant, lack of maintenance, and recent flooding have contributed to the failures of the facility.
