Golden Globes ousts Egyptian member who tweeted of Zionist ‘stronghold’ in Hollywood
The Hollywood Foreign Press Association expelled film critic Howaida Hamdy and two other members over violation of the organization’s code of conduct.
Hamdy had tweeted conspiracy theories about Israel and Zionists, including referring to Hollywood as the “Zionists’ stronghold.”
A pro-Israel watchdog group had previously reported on Hamdy’s tweets, which included claims of a Zionist-American plot behind Islamist terrorism.
Hamdy had also faced criticism for her reviews of a Palestinian film, using varying language to describe Palestinian resistance movements.
