Jamie Lee Curtis contacted her dog walker before anyone else after winning her first Oscar.
“You’re going to laugh, but I didn’t call anyone. I didn’t call because I think it’s disrespectful to be on your phone anyplace, especially at an award ceremony “Curtis said during her presentation.
The 64-year-old actress gave a tearful appearance on “Today” when she revealed why she initially contacted her dog walker.
“I did this after realising I wouldn’t be returning home straight after because we had won. When I wasn’t around, my buddy helps me walk Runi, so I was literally texting her to ask if she could come back that night and let Runi out for an hour. I was scared that Runi would be home alone “She spoke about her terrier-poodle puppy in her explanation.
On “Today,” the “Scream” actress wiped away emotions as she watched her Academy Oscars winning speech for the first time.
In “Everything Everywhere All at Once,” Curtis won her first Oscar for best supporting actress for her performance as Deirdre Beaubeirdre.
She continued to display her beloved Oscar trophy while stating that it is designated as a “they/them” in support of her daughter Ruby.
Ruby and Annie are two of the daughters Curtis and her husband Christopher Guest have.
In May 2022, Ruby married her companion Kynthia after coming out as transgender in 2020. Curtis told the outlet, “In my life, I never believed in a million years that I would have these couple days, and I’m very, very moved by the whole thing.
In her remarks, the Oscar winner thanked her parents for their unwavering support of her acting career. They’ve been my lovely shadow all my life, she said.
“They entered a room before I did whenever and anywhere, and I always tried to take it with grace.” Her parents were were Oscar nominees but were never winners, she said.
The “Freaky Friday” actress also admitted that she did not remain out late following the Oscar ceremony. Curtis was honest and said, “No, no, I didn’t.
You can only get that if you attend The Ball, she said as she displayed the name plate on her gleaming Oscar. “I attended The Ball, and they attached my lovely little nameplate… then we left after mommy said to dad, “Let’s go.” I then arrived to my house.”
