Rachel Lindsay deletes Instagram amid ongoing ‘Bachelor’ controversy
Rachel Lindsay is stepping away from social media due to harassment from Bachelor Nation.
The former Bachelorette has shut down her Instagram account amid the ongoing discussion of racism surrounding the show and Chris Harrison leaving the franchise after a series of controversial remarks.
Van Lathan, co-host of Rachel’s Higher Learning podcast, opened up about her departure from social media in a video posted to her Instagram.
“She did it because it’s the hatred she feels from Bachelor fans that spouts her with all kinds of rude and hateful things to say,” he shared.
“You must all have the life of a king. Seriously, ”Van added.
Earlier this month, Rachel interviewed host Chris Harrison and they had a 14-minute chat about current The Bachelor contestant, Rachael Kirkconnell, and the negative reaction to her past racist behavior.
Chris defended Rachael’s decision to attend a ‘pre-war plantation-themed ball’ in 2018 and undermined the points Rachel was making throughout the discussion.
He apologized on Instagram for his remarks and later said he would be stepping down from the franchise.
Rachel also announced that she would be leaving Bachelor Nation as soon as her contract ended in a recent episode of her podcast.
