Roy Kapur Films (RKF) by Siddharth Roy Kapur signed a contract with famous director Sooni Taraporevala to present the inspiring and hopeful journey of the two boys from Mumbai, Amiruddin Shah and Manish Chauhan, their Israeli-American mentor and their families. have triumphed over their situation and have achieved a feat that no Indian has ever had before – by visiting the prestigious world ballet institutes such as the Royal Ballet Academy of London and the Oregon Ballet Theater.
Sooni, known for her award-winning writings on Salaam Bombay, Mississippi Masala and The Namesake, has already directed a VR documentary on the same subject entitled "Yeh Ballet", for Memesys Lab by Anand Gandhi.
When Siddharth read about the boys and saw this documentary, he was so moved by their story that he immediately contacted Sooni and asked him to join him on the big screen. Siddharth and Sooni have already worked together on The Namesake, co-produced by UTV Motion Pictures, and have been in touch since then to discuss potential ideas for collaboration.
Siddharth said, "I am very excited to present this wonderful and inspiring story on screen, and I am delighted that Sooni writes and directs it. I've always admired her writing and she's outdone herself with the superb storyline she's written about "Ballet Boys".
