Project xCloud is the code name for Microsoft’s cloud-based streaming game platform for Xbox Game Pass Ultimate, allowing you to stream console-quality games to any device. The service is now available on Android, but is expected to arrive on iOS and PC in the future. And today we had our first session with Project xCloud streaming running on a Surface Pro X.
The xCloud project on PC looks and works almost exactly the same as it does on Android, easily adapting to larger screens. The app we use is designed for internal testing, and it comes with all of the same features of the Xbox Game Pass app on Android, including touch controls, which is great if you’re using a Surface device and you don’t. have an Xbox controller handy or one of the clips from our best Xbox xCloud controller phone clips. Even if you have a capable PC, streaming console games to PC also has other small benefits, including less susceptibility to hackers and cheaters compared to online PC.
