Let’s make it a lifestyle! European Union joins World Cleanup Day in Moldova
The EU Delegation to the Republic of Moldova, along with representatives of EU institutions and development partners, joined the 2023 edition of World Cleanup Day in Moldova. This year, a cleanup event took place in Oxentea village, where more than 120 people participated in cleaning up a local park and collecting rubbish. The collected waste was separated into different categories for easier recycling. The European Union emphasizes the importance of protecting the environment and reducing waste and pollution.
Combating the global waste crisis
World Cleanup Day is an annual global social action program aimed at addressing the mismanaged waste crisis, including marine debris. The campaign in Moldova is organized by the National Environmental Centre (NEC). The participation of the EU Delegation, EU Member States embassies, and other EU institutions and development partners highlights the commitment to creating a cleaner planet and promoting sustainable habits.
The cleanup event in Oxentea village serves as a reminder that collective efforts can bring about positive change in the places where we live, work, and study. The European Union encourages individuals and communities to make cleaning up a regular practice and contribute to a cleaner and healthier environment.
