Primark is hosting four free repair workshops at its St Mary’s Square branch, aimed at providing attendees with the skills to repair and reuse their clothes. The 10.30am session will showcase simple sewing hacks, while the 12.00pm session will focus on buttons, the 1.30pm workshop on zips and the 3.00pm session will teach upcycling through the use of pre-loved denim jeans, hoodies or jumpers. The 15.00pm Upcycle and Relove workshop will require attendees to bring a pre-loved pair of denim jeans, a hoodie or jumper to learn upcycling and sewing techniques that will help give their clothes a longer life. The latest events follow Primark’s successful pilot programme of repair workshops across the UK last year, which educated more than 530 colleagues and customers in basic sewing and repair skills.
