Highmark Health is working again with Verily to provide member clinicians with specific treatments and other solutions for COPD and congestive heart failure, the companies said Tuesday.
The six-year-old company builds on Highmark’s current partnership with Verily, the life sciences arm of Alphabet. The company’s health management subsidiary, Onduo, provides type 2 diabetes management to clinicians and members of Highmark.
Verily will use the Highmark member data to create AI and machine learning algorithms to target chronic diseases in patients. Clinicians, including physicians and health coaches, will engage patients with a variety of solutions to prevent conditions from worsening.
Highmark has 5 million members on its insurance lists.
