Knauss School of Business Marketing Students Partner with Fashion Valley Mall for Student-Led Fashion Show
An advanced marketing class at the Knauss School of Business recently collaborated with Fashion Valley Mall to organize a student-led fashion show. The show, held at Paseo de Colachis West, featured talented student-models dressed in outfits provided by Fashion Valley Mall. The event aimed to provide students with practical exposure to event planning, promotion, and various marketing disciplines. Additionally, all proceeds from the fashion show, amounting to $1,000, were donated to the Maui Strong Fund to support wildfire recovery efforts.
Real-World Experience and Giving Back to the Community
The collaboration between the marketing class and Fashion Valley Mall offered students the opportunity to gain hands-on experience in event management, branding, social media marketing, and industry partner relations. The students recognized the importance of giving back to the community and decided to donate all proceeds from the fashion show to the Maui Strong Fund. This aligns with the university’s commitment to caring for the environment and supporting recovery efforts for those affected by the devastating Maui wildfires.
Business for Good: Teaching Beyond Profit
The Knauss School of Business believes in doing business for good by teaching students the value of giving back to the community. The fashion show served as a platform to demonstrate that marketing work can go beyond just profit and the bottom line. By supporting small businesses, nonprofits, and engaging in critical and strategic marketing, students learned that they can make a positive impact on society. The event not only provided valuable experience but also instilled in students the importance of lifting society up through their future careers.
