SPRINGFIELD, Missouri (KY3) – Retired Springfield-Greene County Health Director Clay Goddard received a surprise during his final report to Springfield City Council.
The Ozarks Community Foundation unveiled the new Clay Goddard Public Health Fund, with an initial amount of $ 5,000 raised in the community.
Goddard also received a resolution honoring his service in the Department of Health. Goddard announced in January that he would be retiring. His last day of work is this Friday.
Goddard began working with the health department as an intern 25 years ago and has spent a quarter of a century working his way up the ranks, holding several positions before being appointed director of health.
Goddard has accepted the position of senior director of public health transformation at the Missouri Foundation for Health.
