Khamzat Chimaev says he’s finished; Chechen leader and Dana White say he is not retiring
Within 24 hours, rising UFC star Khamzat Chimaev indicated he was done fighting, but was then convinced to continue by controversial Chechen leader Ramzan Kadyrov. UFC President Dana White also backed up this sentiment, telling MMA Junkie that Chimaev is “not resigning.” Chimaev’s career in the UFC got off to a brilliant start in 2020. The Chechen fighter has won three straight wins in three months. He then had to face high-ranking welterweight Leon Edwards, a huge opportunity.
