We begin with the story of a 72-year-old Lancaster County woman whose name we withhold to protect her privacy.
She has followed the pandemic that threatens the country and wants to be vaccinated against the new coronavirus. She understands the risks but thinks it is worth it. She has a number of chronic health problems. She calls her doctor’s office and is told the office doesn’t have a vaccine now and staff members don’t know when it will be. Calls to county offices are not more useful.
Her pharmacist says the supply is coming from the central shipping area of another state. Pharmacy staff have no control over what will be sent….
