Nashville entrepreneur Brad Smith, a former senior health official in the Trump administration, is starting a business to start and grow healthcare companies to better serve the nation’s most vulnerable patients.
Russell Street Ventures will be part of a private equity firm and incubator, working to create or boost healthcare companies that improve the quality of care for vulnerable patients and lower their healthcare costs, announced Tuesday Smith.
The Nashville-based company plans to launch or partner with two to three technology health services companies over the next six months to a year. At least one of these companies will focus on improving access to health care in rural areas. Others may focus on the health care of the elderly or patients with severe illnesses and disabilities.
