After taking some rest, former San Jose Council member Johnny Khamis is back at work.
Not at San Jose City Hall. He has just accepted a part-time public relations consultant position for the Santa Clara County Association of Realtors (SCCAOR).
SCCAOR provides educational and networking opportunities to over 6,000 real estate agents across the county. Khamis will write articles to help SCCAOR explain complex housing policies to news outlets and the public.
“I am delighted to stay involved in issues that excite me like homeownership,” Khamis told the San José Spotlight. He said homeownership ensured his family’s stability after immigrating to the United States from war-torn Beirut, Lebanon, in 1976. “Home ownership was how we got out of it. poverty and I think this opportunity should be more easily accessible. here in Santa Clara County.
Khamis has a one year contract with SCCAOR and is just starting to look for future gigs after consulting service. He served on San Jose City Council for eight years and is now preparing for a race for County Supervisor in 2022.
The former District 10 representative said he had a restful January where he slept until 8 am….
