Former Xbox Exclusive Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic Remakes

Former Xbox Exclusive Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic Remakes

The old rumor of the Knights of the Old Republic is back, but apparently under different circumstances.

A new Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic is reportedly in the works. New game, said to be a remake or re-imagining of a certain description, will not be developed by the original creators of BioWare.

A report of Cinelix indicates that the game would be “a sort of sequel” that draws on elements from the two classic Knights of the Old Republic games. the game would canonize some characters and events as well, as it will be produced under Disney, similar to Jedi: Fallen Order and Battlefront 2 – characters from both existing in the new canon.

However, it is not known who actually does the game. Around the same time this report came out, the Star Wars podcast noted. Bespin Bulletin revealed that they too had heard that a new Knight of the Old Republic was in development. However, it will not only be manufactured outside of BioWare, nor will it be released by EA.

This is now possible thanks to the recent relaunch / recovery of the Lucasfilm by Disney Games label (formerly Lucas Arts), which opens the door wide open to all game developers and publishers to present Star Wars projects. So far, Lucasfilm Games with Ubisoft have already announced a new open world Star Wars game by the developer of the Massive Division.

It makes sense to expect more announcements to follow soon. As to who actually makes the new Knights of the Old Republic, no one is really sure. More on Resetera, insider Shinobi602 said the developer wouldn’t be a “household name,” but that it wouldn’t be all that surprising once confirmed. Indeed, Bloomberg’s Jason Schreier previously noted that we couldn’t guess the name of the studio.

Knights of the Old Republic games are considered one of the best Star Wars games ever, among the most critically acclaimed RPGs. Obsidian, developer of the sequel, The Sith Lords, had big ideas for the third game, which they failed to do.
