Global pharmacopoeias support public health during COVID-19 pandemic – World

Scientists and healthcare professionals around the world have rarely been under as much pressure as they have been in recent months. This has led to unprecedented collaborative efforts using exceptional means globally, including among global pharmacopoeias.

A pharmacopoeia is a legally binding set of standards and quality specifications for medical products. The World Health Organization (WHO) organizes official meetings entitled International Meeting of Global Pharmacopoeias for the participation of all pharmacopoeias of WHO Member States around the world, whether national, regional or international. During these meetings, the pharmacopoeias share important news and strengthen their cooperation to improve public health outcomes for patients.
