Governor Charlie Baker was due to describe on Thursday a new round of financial assistance for small businesses in Massachusetts affected by the coronavirus pandemic.
Baker was due to discuss the loans at a press conference at 11:30 am
The planned remarks come after the administration on Wednesday announced an additional $ 78.5 million in grants to an additional 1,595 small businesses under the COVID-19 Small Business Grants Program. This is the third round of these loans.
So far, the administration has provided nearly $ 195 million in direct financial support to 4,119 small businesses under the program.
“Supporting small businesses is vital to our economic recovery, and we will continue to expedite this grant process to send funds to provide much needed financial assistance,” Baker said in a press release.
Meanwhile, Baker also released new details on the next round of COVID-19 vaccinations in Massachusetts on Wednesday.
