Governor Tate Reeves announced Tuesday that he is lifting all state-imposed mask warrants in Mississippi and removing COVID-19-related restrictions on business operations.
“The governor’s office stops telling people what they can and can’t do,” Reeves said at a press conference.
The decree, which goes into effect on March 3, replaces masked mandates and trade restrictions with non-binding recommendations that they continue to follow CDC guidelines. Reeves encouraged Mississippians to continue to heed the advice of public health officials like public health official Dr. Thomas Dobbs, who continues to recommend that people wear masks in public and avoid social events. ..
