Grand Traverse County Department of Health issues statement on vaccination clinics

The Grand Traverse County Department of Health released a statement on their mass vaccination clinics, which were announced on Friday.

The department says 23,000 people have identified themselves as eligible for phase 1-B vaccinations before their first clinics.

They say that the efforts of the Department of Health, United Way and other local partners have been to identify vaccine demand for the purposes of planning and phasing out the vaccine.

The ministry also said its scheduling software was “chosen as a long-term solution to planning immunizations for our community.” They say they will use the information gathered to direct those registered with the Department of Health to a planning link.

The ministry said it has received 1,500 doses of the vaccine, which are allocated to recipients of the first dose to be administered next week. They say clinic appointments filled up quickly on Friday.
