Update of 02/27/2021:
HARLAN, Ky. (WYMT) – Believing in doing what’s right for your county, regardless of political affiliation.
“We owe it to these people to work for them every day, regardless of the letter that is next to our name,” said Harlan County Executive Judge Dan Mosley.
In a recent Facebook On video, Harlan County Judge Dan Mosely’s executive announced that he was changing political parties from Lifetime Democrat to Republican status.
“I’ve heard from people across the county and across the state. Some agree and some disagree, but everyone has been very, very respectful and I appreciate that, ”Mosley said.
Executive Judge Mosley called on all other politicians to work together.
“Focus on the needs of the people we serve, because every decision made at the federal, state or local level impacts someone individually,” Mosley said.
Despite the change of parties, Mosley says he will still work with his official colleagues.
“Whether it’s Democrats or Republicans, they understand what our situation is like in Harlan County and really all of eastern Kentucky,” Mosley said.
Saying just because he changed parties doesn’t mean he changed his love for the county or its people.
“I’m the same person I’ve always been. I will work hard for the people of this county as long as they give me the opportunity to do so, ”Mosley said.
To believe in what he thinks is right.
