Another Easter during the COVID-19 pandemic. It’s hard to believe, but, fortunately, this year, we know a lot more about the virus.Experts at the Oklahoma Medical Research Foundation said when it comes to Easter egg hunts, stay outside.“As long as you’re outside, then you’re not totally safe, but it’s not so much safer than being indoors,” said Hal Scofield, with OMRF and a professor with OU Health. “And the transmission outside is very small compared to being indoors.”Health experts encourage you to social distance, wear a mask and wash your hands if you plan to gather with other people.“It looks like that isn’t a big problem with the virus. It’s all almost airborne transmission of droplets coming out that you breathe out, someone else breathes in,” Scofield said. “So, handling things like Easter eggs or Easter baskets or that sort of thing probably is not that big of a deal for transmitting that virus, so you’re probably safe.”If you do decide to go on an Easter egg hunt, the safest thing you can do is wear a mask.
