Celine Dion has cancelled her Courage World Tour due to her battle with an incurable neurological disorder called stiff person syndrome. The 55-year-old singer announced the news on Instagram, apologizing to fans and explaining that touring can be difficult even when one is 100% healthy. Dion revealed her diagnosis of stiff person syndrome in December, which affects the central nervous system and causes stiffness and rigidity in the muscles. She also stated how fans can get refunded for their tickets. Dion previously shared her struggles with mobility and voice problems due to the condition.
Iconic singer Celine Dion has announced the cancellation of her Courage World Tour due to her ongoing battle with an incurable neurological disorder. The 55-year-old singer revealed the news to her fans via Instagram, expressing her tremendous disappointment at having to cancel the tour.
“I’m so sorry to disappoint all of you once again. I’m working really hard to build back my strength, but touring can be very difficult even when you’re 100%,” Dion wrote in her post. “It’s not fair to you to keep postponing the shows, and even though it breaks my heart, it’s best that we cancel everything now until I’m really ready to be back on stage again.”
Dion also revealed that she has been diagnosed with stiff person syndrome, a rare autoimmune movement disorder that affects the central nervous system. The condition is characterized by a stiffening of the muscles in the trunk, followed by stiffness and rigidity in the legs and other parts of the body.
Despite the challenges she is facing, Dion remains optimistic about her future. “I want you all to know, I’m not giving up … and I can’t wait to see you again!” she wrote in her post.
The cancellation of Dion’s tour is just one of many examples of musicians who have had to cancel or postpone their tours due to health struggles. Other artists who have had to cancel tour dates include Morgan Wallen and Justin Bieber.
For fans who have purchased tickets to Dion’s cancelled shows, she provided instructions on how to obtain a refund. “Tickets purchased for the forty-two cancelled dates will be refunded via the original point of sale. For further ticket inquiries or options, ticketholders should reach out to their original point of purchase,” she wrote.
Last year, Dion emotionally revealed to her fans in an Instagram video that she had been experiencing problems with her mobility, which also affected her voice. At the time, she expressed her determination to continue performing despite these challenges.
While the cancellation of Dion’s tour is certainly disappointing for her fans, it is important to remember that her health comes first. We wish her all the best as she continues to battle her neurological disorder, and we look forward to seeing her back on stage when she is ready.
