Health officials report 232 new cases of COVID-19, eight more deaths to W.Va.

CHARLESTON, W.Va (WDTV) – Officials from the West Virginia Department of Health and Human Resources on Wednesday reported 232 new cases of COVID-19 in Mountain State.

This brings the total number to 132,416.

302,793 people received their first dose of the COVID-19 vaccine and 199,611 people in the state were fully vaccinated.

DHHR officials also reported eight additional COVID-19-related deaths in the state on Wednesday, bringing the death toll to 2,309.

DHHR has confirmed the death of a 53-year-old woman from Lewis County, a 66-year-old man from Mason County, a 69-year-old man from Berkeley County, an 80-year-old man from Tucker County, a man from 64 years old. an elderly man from Boone County, a 78-year-old man from Kanawha County, a 60-year-old man from Marion County and a 37-year-old woman from Monongalia County.
