Health officials report 346 new cases of COVID-19, six more deaths to W.Va.

CHARLESTON, W.Va (WDTV) – Officials from the West Virginia Department of Health and Human Resources reported 346 new cases of COVID-19 in Mountain State on Saturday.

This brings the total number to 131,580.

296,693 people received their first dose of the COVID-19 vaccine and 194,412 people in the state were fully vaccinated.

DHHR officials also reported six more deaths related to COVID-19 in the state on Saturday, bringing the death toll to 2,297.

DHHR has confirmed the death of an 83-year-old woman from County Raleigh, a 76-year-old woman from Wood County, a 55-year-old woman from County Raleigh, a 71-year-old man from Kanawha County, aged 79 years old. old male from Lewis County and 47 year old male from Kanawha County.

“The continued loss of life in West Virginia weighs heavily on all of us, with the greatest sadness borne by family and friends,” said Bill J. Crouch, cabinet of DHHR.
