A day after the publication of Clark County Public Health data Showing that the state’s vaccine allocation to the county has not been proportional to that of other counties, the Washington health secretary admitted the state needs to better help local health jurisdictions that have received more small state allowances.
Washington Health Secretary Dr Umair Shah made the comments during a Congressional hearing on Wednesday after being questioned by Republican Jaime Herrera Beutler, a Battle Ground Republican.
Public health data, provided to The Columbian on Tuesday night, shows that a study of 15 Washington counties, examining the five counties with the highest, lowest, and median population sizes, found Clark County to rank 14th out of 15 in the allocation of the first doses per 1000 inhabitants. and the allocation of the first dose as a percentage of the total county population.
