How Hall could receive financial aid after Tropical Storm Zeta

Financial assistance may soon be provided to Hall County and 20 other counties after damage estimated at $ 22 million statewide from Tropical Storm Zeta in late October.

Governor Brian Kemp submitted a request for a major disaster declaration on November 18, which was approved by President Donald Trump on Tuesday, January 12.

Hall County spokeswoman Katie Crumley said the county’s emergency management participated in a joint damage assessment with local, state and federal officials on November 10.

“Initial damage estimates of around $ 500,000 were provided, which contributed to the overall disaster declaration announced yesterday,” Crumley wrote in an email.

Crumley said work on the federal rebate claim process will take place over the coming weeks and months, and she said there are no reconstruction projects underway related to Zeta.
