Health officials on Tuesday announced 1,665 new cases of coronavirus in Illinois and 27 more deaths.
The Illinois Department of Public Health is now reporting a total of 1,177,320 cases, including 20,330 deaths since the start of the pandemic.

In the last 24 hours, labs reported 61,400 samples for a total of 17,721,561.
As of Monday evening, 1,488 people in Illinois were reportedly hospitalized with COVID-19. Of these, 361 patients were in intensive care and 172 patients with COVID-19 were on ventilators.
The statewide seven-day preliminary positivity for cases as a percentage of the total test from February 16 to 22, 2021 is 2.8%. The statewide seven-day pre-test positivity from Feb.16-22, 2021 is 3.0%.
A total of 2,307,685 doses of the vaccine have been administered to providers in Illinois, including Chicago. In addition, approximately 445,200 doses in total have been allocated to the federal government’s Pharmaceutical Partnership Program for long-term care facilities.
