New Delhi [India], March 2 (ANI): A video of the landing of NASA’s Perseverance rover went viral earlier this month. The video circling the internet featured an Indo-American aerospace engineer, Bindi sportsman named Swati Mohan, who was one of the many people who led the development and landing system of the rover.
Swati, who skillfully landed the spacecraft, works at the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) Jet Propulsion Laboratory (JPL). She is one of many Indian women scientists, engineers and missile designers who are leaving a mark on future generations.
“There are so many exciting things happening every day that I am constantly in awe of what we can do, see and learn, and the wonderful and incredibly talented people who make it possible. All of JPL’s projects aim to expand human understanding and are almost always the first in some way, ”Swati said.
Neeta Lal, writing for the South China Morning Post, said there are many other Indian women shooting for the skies as space scientists, engineers, satellite launchers, missile developers and project leaders of complex interstellar missions.
