LOS ANGELES (AP) – Fred Segal, a famous Los Angeles-based fashion retailer, died Thursday. He was 87 years old.
Segal died of complications from a stroke at a Santa Monica hospital, his publicist said on Friday.
Segal “was an innovator, forward thinking, rule breaker, mentor to so many, such a life lover and humanitarian,” his family said in a statement obtained by The Hollywood Reporter. “Anyone who knew him felt his powerful energy. He has worked his whole life to love himself and to teach us to love each other.
