TOPEKA, Kan. (KSNT) – The Shawnee County Health Department held a virtual media conference on Thursday, January 14 at 1:30 p.m.
The Stormont COVID-19 dashboard shows that as of January 14, 2021, 1,377 patients had been hospitalized since March 15, 2020.
To date, the total number of vaccinations against Stormont Vail has been 7,635.
Derik Flerlage, director of the Shawnee County Health Department’s infectious disease division for the Shawnee County Health Department, said the county was at an all time high, while Shawnee County was “out of control “.

“With the increase, we know the deaths will follow,” Flerlage said.
Flerlage said the increase in the number has made it difficult, if not impossible, to find the contacts necessary to mitigate the spread of the coronavirus.
