ANNAPOLIS, Maryland – The second month of the 2021 General Assembly session draws to a close, more and more bills go through both houses. Additionally, several positive COVID tests at the Statehouse led to a short-lived panic in Annapolis and Governor Larry Hogan.[R] testified before the US Senate.

Several positive COVID-19 tests were reported by the Statehouse of Maryland this week, which subsequently led six Senate members to miss a floor session, although two of them said their absence was not not due to quarantine issues. Senate Speaker Ferguson said later tests showed them to be false positives, which is more probably due to the rapid test method used at the Statehouse.
