Microsoft and European publishers seek Australian flair news Payments

LONDON >> Microsoft partners with European publishers to push for system that allows big tech platforms to pay news, raising the stakes in Australia’s brewing battle for Google and Facebook to pay for journalism.

Seattle tech giant and four major European Union news industrial groups today unveiled their plan to work together on a “mandatory payment” solution for the use of news content from “online gatekeepers with dominant market power”.
